José Eduardo Pécora Junior, professor of quantitative management methods (Analytics), was born in Votorantim in the interior of São Paulo, the son of professors understood early on that knowledge would be his passport to the world. In 1998 he achieved a bachelor’s degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). Four years later, still at Unicamp, he completed his master’s degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics. After that he went to Canada, more specifically to Université Laval, achieving a doctorate degree (Ph.D) in Business Administration in 2008. During his lifetime, the researcher had experiences and complements his training at universities in countries such as France and at other universities in Canada. He is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Paraná, where he teaches undergraduate courses in Administration and Masters in Numerical Methods in Engineering (PPGMNE) and Management Organizations, Leadership and Decision (PPGOLD), in addition to being responsible for the disciplines of Analytics MBA in Industry 4.0. He is a reviewer for more than 10 journals, has scientific publications in internationally renowned journals. He is also carrying out his postdoctoral studies at Université Laval. Much of the research carried out during his life is related to logistics, in recent years he has dedicated his research to the health area.
